My name is Ally. I am a 7 year old pit bull mix who became a Therapy Dog when I turned 6. My mom and dad rescued me from the animal shelter when I was almost a year old and now we are a happy family. I live with two kitties, Inky and Elsa, and they were rescued too! Most days, you can find Elsa and me cuddled up together and it makes my mom giggle. Some of my favorite activities are walking through parks, swimming in the river, chasing squirrels and long belly rubs. I adore people of all ages, so I go with mom and dad a lot and meet new makes me so happy to see others smile! We go to the library, CBC for stress-busting, assisted living facilities, and the Tri City Airport to help nervous passengers. When I'm not "working", I am mostly a couch potato. Life is good!

Hi, my name is Augie, short for August. I got the name Augie because Shelley brought me home as a baby in the month of August. I’m a Rottweiler And part of the Go Team Therapy Dog group.

I go to school every week, one day a week, because just like you, I learn new things all the time. Besides coming to the library, I visit my friends in the senior assisted living home. Some of my favorite things are snow, frisbee golf, playing ball, playing with other dogs and belly rubs. Getting pets makes me very happy and I love to put my ball in the water. I get in trouble when I put it in Shelley’s bath water. I really got in trouble when I put my ball in the irrigation ditch and fell in trying to get my ball back. I almost drowned. Be careful around irrigation ditches.

Can’t wait to meet you.

She was born on February 14, 2009 (Valentine’s Day).  She is a rescue dog.  Her mom was a Labrador and Golden Retriever mix.  Bella loves to swim after her floaty toy at the Columbia River.  She loves to chase to squirrels, but has yet to catch one.  Bella shares her house with a cat named 5-Ball.  She loves to nuzzle 5-Ball’s ears and neck.  Bella enjoys having children read to her at the library.  She also visits patients at Trios Hospital.  Her favorite toy is a stuffed Barney that she carries around with her all the time.

A therapy dog for the PAWS to Read program, is a four year old golden doodle. She is part golden retriever, part poodle. She is part of the therapy dog program at the Richland Public Library. We purchased Cali in Redmond, Oregon, She was a pretty funny looking puppy with hair going every which way but she has turned into a very cute dog that makes people smile. She has another dog and two cats in her home. Cali is part of the therapy dog group called “Love on a Leash”. In addition to visiting the library, Cali also visits retirement homes, clinics and Washington State University prior to finals week. We haven’t found a venue that she doesn’t like. She likes all ages and makes people smile. We both love to get acquainted with people and to hopefully make their day a little brighter

Chai is a happy little dog that likes to play with squeaky toys, chew bones, and Therapy Dog Dani. His favorite game of all is to do Nose Work like a police dog except instead of looking for explosives he looks for special scents like birch (which smells a bit like root beer). He also likes to look out the window to watch the golfers, rabbits, and birds in the back yard. I think he would maybe like to run after the golf balls but he knows he needs to stay on the patio and he is a very good boy about that.

Full name: Pien Ji’s Beautiful Dangerous Nickname: Dani Dani is a two year old Shih Tzu who thinks she’s a princess and she loves lacy things. However with “Dangerous” as a last name, she’s not afraid to hang out with big guys – soldiers and veterans being some of her favorite people. She’s a sweet coquette to people with walkers and wheelchairs; a tomboy to anyone who will toss her mini tennis ball; and a darling enchantress coaxing giggles and smiles from the shyest child or tired adult. That’s why the middle name is “Beautiful!”

My name is Goldie and I am 6 ½ years old Pembroke Welch Corgi / Yellow Lab mix. I came to live with my family 3 ½ years ago and now I never want to leave them. I have a cat named Dizzy and we chase each other and play tag. At night we can often be found sleeping together. My best friend is Rita who is also a library Therapy Dog. I always look both ways before crossing the street to make sure no cars are coming. I love Mondays in the library and especially like having my belly rubbed.

Jake is a Great Dane and Labrador mix. His favorite activity is playing with kids of any age. He loves walks, especially along the river or anywhere there are lots of different “smells”. At home, he enjoys chasing the ball in the yard, especially when the sprinklers are running and eating strawberries and green beans fresh from the garden. Jake is a Go Team Therapy Dog.

Jake is a 2 and 1/2 year old boxer who enjoys being with kids and family. He really likes to play with his tennis ball and he enjoys taking the squeekers out of his toys. Jake also enjoys sleeping and playing with other dogs. He also likes being petted and hanging out with kids and his family.

Jemma has made the long trip from Oklahoma to join her family here in Washington. Once she got here, we noticed how special and sweet she is. She has joined the Go Team Therapy dog, Crisis and Airport dog team at a year and a half years of age. Her favorite things to do are to play frisbee, bark at squirrels, and kiss everyone. Especially kids.

Be warned! The more you giggle, the more intense the kisses!

Jitterbug is a Boston Terrier who is a very energetic little clown who LOVES her ball. She was born in Wyoming and comes from a long line of Champions. When she's not reading with kids at the library, visiting the Cancer Center, or several Memory Care facilities, she competes in Agility, Obedience, and Rally. She lives with a Doberman who is also a Therapy Dog.

Full Name: Pien Ji’s Bad to the Bone Nickname: Malo Although Malo means “bad” in Spanish, this fur baby is anything but. This three year old Shih Tzu has AKC CGC, CGCA titles, and his Love on a Leash certification. He has also earned his AKC THD title. Malo loves his job and considers his day a success when he has put a smile on someone’s face. He brings joy to residents in assisted living facilities, Alzheimer’s units, cancer patients, veterans, and university students suffering the anxiety of semester finals. Malo is GOOD.

Ozzy is a 5 year old blue doberman. He is taller than most dobermans and loves to exercise his long legs by chasing balls, frisbees and playing tug of war. He likes to hang out with his friends at home, 2 mini goats, 2 cats, a horse and his best friend, Sir, a little black dog that thinks his legs are chew toys. But his favorite thing to do is volunteering as a Go Team Therapy Dog.

Phoenix was rescued from a shelter 5 years ago where she waited for over a month for someone to recognize how special she was. Today she is a loving companion and a therapy dog certified through Go Team Therapy, Crisis and Airport Dogs Inc. Bring out a ball and she loses her mind but generally she is a quiet, serious dog. She loves kids and her favorite day of the year is Halloween when kids show up on the front porch in droves. Beware of kisses to anyone down at her level.

My name is Margarita but I go by 'Rita for short. My mom rescued me from the pound two years ago, so don't know exactly how old I am or exactly where I came from. I am probably 5 years old and at least part American Staffordshire Terrier. Yes, I am one of the dogs people call a pit bull. I also compete in agility and like to run. I am a certified therapy dog. I am very gentle and loyal and I hope to show people that not all pit bulls are mean. Please come read to me and you will see how sweet I am.

Sally is seven years old, was born in Richland and lives with her friend, Kelly. Although she looks like a Dalmatian, her DNA test shows she is actually a combination of eight other dog breeds, from a Border Collie to a Chihuahua! Her favorite things to do are to run fast at the park and to meet new friends. She also goes to a special dog school and has learned a lot of new things, including how to be a good Summer Reading Buddy.

Teeba is an English Cream Golden Retriever. Yes, her name is funny! It comes from TBA (to be announced) because we couldn’t agree on a name for her.
